Any advocate of human rights, Democracy or Feminism should most definitely not see this movie. From the first caption to the very end this movie was a pure Sacha Baron Choan film. It begins by dedicating the movie in loving memory of Kim Jong Il. The movie is about a different brutal dictator named Aladeen, played by Choan. The film follows the life of Aladeen as he is sent to America and must live in a democratic society. The transition for him, as you can imagine is very difficult.

Some of my favourite parts were when he delivers a baby. After bringing the new life into this world he realises it’s a girl and looks for the nearest trash can. Another classic yet morally wrong quote is when he asks his wife if she will be having a boy or an abortion.
The humor is extremely crude and I found that as I was laughing I couldn’t help but feel bad. And as I sat in the theater I realised that others felt the same way. For example, around half way through the movie I observed as a middle aged woman got up and left. To say the least she did not look impressed with the film. However, found that this lady leaving the movie extremely funny, heightening the experience of the Dictator.
The trash can scene made me laugh so hard! And the scene when he learnt to masturbate made me cry. Such a crude but really funny movie!
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to see this. Even being a girl, those things don't offend me. I can laugh at things like this no problem. As crude as it may be it's all a joke anyways and people should realize that. That women most of not known what Choan is like or else she probably wouldn't have gone. I think if anything it should offend the people who actually think like this because he is really just making fun of them.
ReplyDeleteI've only seen bits and pieces of this movie, but the little parts that I have seen have been quite funny. It's not everyday that you see a movie which tries to be extremely crude while making a point about the flaw in politics around the world. Refreshing.
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of Choan or Ferrel, seen in your previous post as well, but I do enjoy Kim Jong Il. Excluding his fat son. Consider perusing and enjoying the tumblr blog kimjongillookingatthings.tumblr.com to watch our dear leader looking at things. Many, many things.
